Homework 1: Getting Started
This assignment involves getting up to speed with course content. It
is due Friday of the first week. It’s easy and it’s worth as much as a
full homework set.
To complete the homework:
- Get to know the course web site, including
the links in the menu at the left.
- Find the textbook and familiarize yourself with it. See more at the
textbook information on
the Course Info page.
- Begin the Week 1 assigned reading (see the home page).
- Register at the homework site MyOpenMath. See registration instructions.
- Visit the discussion forum for Introductions. Create
a new thread there and introduce yourself. Make sure you following the
instructions there for full credit.
- Complete the Week 1 reading quiz at MyOpenMath. It should be easy to find answers if
you’re familiar with the course web site.
Note that this will be the only homework assignment in this form. All
future homework will be done through MyOpenMath.
